About Me
Hello world, welcome to my blog!
I am a college graduate with an unending desire to learn and improve. My passion for computers sparked early, thanks in part to a supportive environment fostered by my robotics club and inspiring teachers. Their encouragement ultimately led me to earn a degree in Computer Science. Ever since my father introduced me to a computer, I’ve been fascinated by the endless possibilities it represents. My childhood love for learning things via Encyclopedia Britannica quickly morphed into a passion for computers and programming. I found myself first drawn to creating websites and the Lua scripting language on Roblox, where I discovered the incredible rush of watching my code come to life. Seeking new challenges, I dove head first into more advanced web development and Python programming. Most of my time is spent learning and programming tools and creating solutions that solve real-world problems for myself and others.
Outside of technology, I’m passionate about cooking, reading, and even a bit of retro gaming. Despite my love for modern tech, I have a fondness for binding books, gardening, and bird watching. When I’m not behind my desk learning a new technology, you can often find me spending time in nature or at church. I strive to “let [my] light so shine before men,” so that I may glorify God through my good works. I believe in approaching every task, big or small, with the mindset that how you do one thing is how you do everything. I always seek to go in with full effort and the intention of making the world a better place.
I celebrate successes, both big and small, through simple joys—either by indulging in a good book or celebrating with family. The world can take away a lot from you, so I like to treasure these small things more than say the latest and greatest gizmos.
I grew up in a small town in Texas, where life moves at a pace that allows for genuine connection and personal interaction. This upbringing has instilled in me a love for tight-knit communities and personal relationships over self-gratifying experiences that I often see pushed and advertised. In my community, I engage by offering my time to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and helping out at church.
I’m a firm believer in continuous learning. Resources like “The 12 Week Year” and Ry’s Git Tutorial have been transformative in my personal development, alongside, of course, the Bible. I practice what I learn and understand the importance of being a lifelong student to avoid stagnation.
Looking ahead, I aspire to achieve self-sufficiency on a plot of land that can support myself and with a bit of luck a family. I also have plans to grow an audience here to share knowledge with, opening doors to possibly teaching or coaching others, who in turn can help improve the world themselves.
Lastly, I want to share a quote from Monty Oum, the creator of one of my favorite shows, that resonates with me deeply: “The goal isn’t to live on forever; it’s to make something that does.” This philosophy drives me to create meaningful, lasting contributions that hopefully will extend beyond my own life.
